Resources

Tools, not replacements.

Resources should help you read Scripture, not do all your thinking for you.

Start with the text

Read the entire biblical book when possible. Notice repeated words, changes in subject, questions, commands, and how the writer develops the argument.

Compare translations

Ben normally reads the ESV because it is easiest for him to comprehend, while consulting other translations when wording or interpretation needs closer attention.

Use teachers wisely

Read broadly. Learn from people with expertise. Then return to the text and ask whether their reasoning actually holds.

Welcome correction

The goal is not to protect an interpretation because it belongs to us. The goal is to follow truth wherever God's Word leads.
